The kick-off event for the Love, Chloe Foundation was held Saturday, March 1 (Chloe's birthday). The turnout was wonderful with more than 100 in attendance. We served homemade chili, veggies and cake to many friends and family that came to support the start of the foundation. Keri Feyerherm spoke to the group about the goals of the foundation and about possible events and fundraisers. Nedra Elbl (Chloe's 2nd grade teacher) and Michelle Boos (Coronado guidance counselor) presented the foundation with a check for $763.64. The money was collected by several classes at Coronado Elementary during Kindness Week (February 25-29). The students were encouraged to bring in coins to support the Love, Chloe Foundation. It was really amazing that the students had collected that much in just a week's time. The gift from the students together with the donations at the lunch totaled nearly $1500. The event was wrapped up with a balloon lift. The day could not have been better for this with temperatures in the 70s and a strong Kansas wind to take the balloons up, up and away.
