The Relay for Life event in Salina was held on Friday, July 11, 2008.
Love, Chloe was well represented with a team of 32. We spent a few months raising money for the event. We ended up raising more than $5,600 for the American Cancer Society. Our fundraisers included selling purple hanging monkeys, luminarias and raffle tickets for an awesome basket. Our raffle basket included Worlds of Fun tickets, Royals tickets with a parking pass, Royals memorabilia (including a signed Frank White baseball), gas cards, Chili's gift cards and a stay at the Holiday Inn in Overland Park.
The entire package was worth over $550.
The event started at 7pm on Friday, July 11 and concluded at 7am on Saturday, July 12. We were represented on the track for the entire 12 hours. We had a great turn out at the relay and really enjoyed the experience. We look forward to another successful year in 2009.
